Keeping the community polls honest and unbiased is the entire reason we started this. Too many times a “Best of” contest is run by a newspaper, radio station or even just some random website run by and solely voted on by their staff. It just doesn’t make sense. Advertising should not influence outcomes. Plain and simple! The poll is a popularity contest, so why do so many media outlets skew results because a company advertises two or three times a week in their paper or airtime? It’s not fair on the tourist who searches for “Best Pizza in ________” and they end up having the worst slice ever.
